Routes & Branches 12/1/12

I had a couple of musical groups into the studio this week. First I saw Jonathan Warren and The Billygoats this week at Cosmic on Thursday and noticed that they were going to still be in the area on Saturday and said to them "would you like to stop by and play some tunes on my show". They have a great roots based sound that they call Progressive Psychobilly Folk Grass. "It's foot stomping music that makes you want to drink a beer and eat a biscuit." It also went well with pizza.

In my second hour this week I had a lovely visit with Alice DiMicele. A long time Eugene favorite Alice's music can be best described as an eclectic blend of Americana folk. She was joined in the studio by her long time band mate Mikey Stevens who lent some tasteful trumpet and guitar leads to Alice's wonderful vocals and guitar.
