Routes and Branches Play List 7/25/09

A Happy Birthday to Alison Krauss this week. In honor of her birthday I made her my feature artist this week. From her solo career, to her work with Union Station, Alison has produced great vocals, but I feel her best came out when she hooked up with Robert Plant. Their album "Raising Sand" was one of my favorites last year. No word yet on a follow-up album. I know there are many fans including me who would like to see them do another album.

Routes and Branches Play List 7/18/09

After a week off to broadcast the Oregon The Oregon Country Fair, it was good to be back in the studio again. And now at 15,000 watts. That's right!! KRVM has just completed our power and HD upgrade on our transmitter. My thanks go out our Engineer and General Manager Randy Larson and his assistants for working so hard to bring KRVM into the digital age.
I started by playing a couple of my favorites from the fair and then I focused the show on catching up on the new music to the station over the past few weeks. I really like the single "Summer Wine" by Shelley King who got some help from some members of the Subdudes. Other good new cuts include Among The Oak & Ash with a different version of "Peggy O", Otis Taylor's "Looking For Some Heat" and The Minus 5 "The Long Hall".

Routes and Branches Play List 7/04/09

This week I started with Railroad Earth who put on a great show at the Crystal Ballroom in Portland a couple of Fridays ago and Jake Payne who was playing at Art in the Vinyard as I was starting the show today.
We quickly moved into my focuss of the afternoon which was on artists who will be playing at the Oregon Country Fair this coming weekend. We will be broadcasting Live from the Blue Moon Stage of the OCF next week. Some of the artists that I played today will be part of that live broadcast. So If you cannot attend the fair in person, you can listen to it on your radio or computer.
