Routes and Branches Play List 02/19/11

I started today's show with a group of Grammy Award winners. It is good to see a variety of Americana Artists earning Grammy's for their good work. Ryan Bingham who was in Eugene this week won his second award for his song "The Weary Kind". Mavis Staples won the award for Best Americana album which is a fairly new catagory at the Grammys.
This week I did my first interview in a motor home that the Evangenitals were traveling in for their Northwest tour. The Evangenitals are an alt.country band from southern California founded by Juli Crocket and Lisa Dee when they were working together. They started at an open mic night and received such a great response that they decided to keep writting songs and performing. Their infectious and inspiring music will keep you tappin' your toes.
