Routes and Branches Play List 08/21/10

I started today's show with a couple of artists who had birthdays this week. Robert Plant turned 62 and John Hiat turned 58 on Friday.

I threw in some ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd into the mix since they are both coming to the Oregon State Fair in the next couple of weeks. I followed them with some Direks Bently since he is also coming to the state fair.

Robert Earl Keen is performing a couple of shows in Oregon this week. On Tuesday he is Roseburg at their Music on the Half shell series, and the following night in Portland. Blake Phillips recently had a chance to talk with Robert and has done a good job writing up their conversation on his blog http://ourkindofmusic.wordpress.com/. If you're a Robert Earl Keen fan, I totally recommend checking it out.

Hey Tim!
Thanks for the mention of my interview with Robert Earl Keen. It was a lot of fun. I caught his Portland show (8/25) and I'm so glad I did, too. It was a hell of a night!
Keep playing the great stuff that you do so well!
Cheers!
